Lucy Baxter

Lucy moved to NZ from the UK 9 years ago and has no doubt it was the best decision for herself, husband and their two daughters. They absolutely love Taupō and couldn't imagine living anywhere else, though do miss family.

Lucy enjoys meeting lots of new and interesting people. She likes to be outdoors, either up the mountain, on the lake or out on the mountain bike.

Lucy was undecided about whether to attend the Public audition for Dancing for Life Education in partnership with Penny Homes, but finally decided it would be a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity.

Lucy says “I told myself and that I should just go for it, what's the worst that could happen! I feel it sets a good example for my children to see me out of my comfort zone and trying something new. The reward is greater when the challenge is harder.”

Daryl Martin

Daryl Martin is an apprentice builder, born and bred in Taupō . With all the fun things to do here, Daryl does a pretty good job of trying most of them ; swimming, mountain biking and jujitsu are his current favorites. Daryl is also a very, very busy dad of 3.

He says “Being a dad is my hardest and my most rewarding job. You know very quickly when you have done well or mucked it up!”

Daryl also loves singing and dancing and his sister convinced him to come along to the Dancing for Life Education in partnership with Penny Homes Public Audition. Like so many other parents I am always busy, mostly with the kids. This dancing challenge, will very selfishly, be for me. Luckily I have so many friends and whanau in Taupō who always help me out.”
